A new one!  A couple of months ago I decided to give HLP a tech overhaul. New website, new blog, new computer (and operating system and monitor - - PAINFUL!), new ordering process...and on and on and on.  And of course this process has been excruciatingly slow...ugh!  But today...today, my friends...I am ready to launch my new blog!  Yeehaw!  This will be my last post here...from this day forward, the Heidi Lynne Photography blog can be found at...

Atlanta bound...

This weekend I am headed to Atlanta to attend an intense 3-day workshop on studio management.  I am excited to learn new things about how to run my business more effectively...and it is always great to write off a trip to a great city for an educational expense!  My head is already spinning with some changes on the horizon, and I can promise you that 2009 will be a great year for Heidi Lynne Photography! 

In the meantime...some recent favorites...

Three Girls...Three Looks

I'm lucky to have good friends that let me try things out on their children.  The idea that I had with these three evolved a little since I first approached their mom, but I'm so happy with how these three shots came out. 

Three girls in my studio...no change of clothes...three TOTALLY different looks.  Fun! And I must say...I think these could quite possibly be the three most beautiful sisters ever to grace this earth...

I'm a supremely much cooler mom...

...when one of my kids' BFF's comes to the studio for a shoot.  These two were inseparable for the past two years and when different kindergarten buildings separated them, they kept on lovin' one another.  And hopefully they will continue to do so...

 

All hail to the concert photographers of the world!

And so, I was invited to photograph a newly formed State College band at one of their recent performances, and I was happy to oblige.  After all...music and cameras...two of my greatest loves!  But when I realized that this was completely uncharted territory for me, I got a little scared.  Extremely dark bar...NEON lights...fast moving instruments...no external lighting sources for me...that all adds up to one heck of an intimidating situation.  Oh...and I was also a little scared I'd trip over a cord and fall into a speaker...but that's another issue altogether.

The band is The Brew Devils and they consist of 4 musicians with many, many years of experience.  And I must say...they were awesome (if I can borrow a word from my Hannah Montana lovin' little girls)!  They have quite a few upcoming gigs...I encourage you to check them out.  These aren't my typical blog shots, but I am pretty pleased with them despite the difficult lighting.  And I now have a new found respect for concert photographers...it 'aint easy!

Wild, rambunctious, silly..and totally fun!

Ok, I'll admit it.  The terrible two's...well, as a photographer...I love them!  I love their little attitudes..their budding personalities...and their sometimes disinterest in me.  They are a challenge for me...ones that keep me on my toes...literally and figuratively.

These two year old twins were in their element.  In their home...in their own, comfy surroundings.  So it wasn't a surprise when the clothes came off...after all, what two year old doesn't love to be naked in their own house?  These gals were so much fun...I had to drag myself away from keeping the shutter going on my camera...

Ahh...

Sisterly love...

I'm quite familiar with sisterly love.  I've got two of 'em myself...and I'm raising three of 'em too.  I'm also quite familiar with how sisterly love evolves into sisterly jealousy, sisterly spitefulness and sisterly animosity.  I'm not saying that my girls are like that...or that I was ever like that with *my* sisters...but...

When I arrived at this client's house, these two sisters were very sweet to one another.  I asked them if they are always like that, and they quickly replied "no way!".  They insisted that they are always fighting...always in one another's face.  I don't know...I just don't believe it.  Do you?

Valentine's Day with Winter White Mini Sessions

A 2 hour delay today meant that I could put to use the tulips that were an impulse buy at Walmart two days ago.  The Winter White Mini Sessions are a great way to do some fun shots to use for a Valentine's Day gift...spouse...grandparents...aunts/uncles...anyone!  There are still spaces available from January 20-30th, and as long as your order is placed by February 7th, your order will be back in time for Valentine's Day gift giving...
